After decades of dedicated service to the medical imaging community in Australia and New Zealand, we announce that the Diploma of Medical Ultrasound (DMU) program has qualified its final student as a sonographer. As many of you know, the DMU was unable to continue due to regulatory requirements.
We are grateful for the amazing support and commitment of our volunteer Board of Examiners, examiners, and supervisors, who have all contributed to the professionalism of the sonographer profession. Thank you also to our students, particularly in recent years, who, in most instances, have had choices in where to study, and dealing with the many changes and challenges.
The Diploma of Medical Ultrasound began in 1979 and has played a pivotal role in educating and credentialing 2,021 sonographers, contributing significantly to the quality of healthcare in our region. We are immensely proud of the countless graduates who have gone on to make valuable contributions to the field of medical ultrasound.
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been a part of the Diploma of Medical Ultrasound family over the years. Your dedication and passion for advancing medical ultrasound and the sonographer profession have been instrumental in our success.
We wish all our graduates continued success in their careers, and look forward to supporting you in your professional development across Australia and New Zealand or wherever this wonderful profession may take you.
