As we continue to monitor the exceptional circumstances of COVID-19, ASUM acknowledges the amazing work of all healthcare professionals and the role of ultrasound in this battle. These are uncertain times. We need to follow the advice given to mitigate, as best we can, this unprecedented global event and adhere to the relevant restrictions for the safety of all.
At this time, ASUM is concerned for the wellbeing of DDU candidates, examiners and staff and as such on the advice of the DDU Board of Examiners would like to communicate the following changes to the DDU academic calendar and operations.
DDU Module 1 Online Assessment – As Scheduled
The Module 1 Online assessment will be held on 29 May 2020 as scheduled. Remote proctoring will be offered in place of nomination of an assessment invigilator.
ASUM have waived the deferral fee for candidates enrolled in this sitting. Candidates may apply to defer this assessment by completing the deferral form available here, omitting payment details.
DDU Module 3 Assessments – Postponed
The Module 3 Written and Oral assessments have now been postponed. These assessments have tentatively been rescheduled for late October/early November however the DDU Board will continue to monitor the situation. As such please note the following extended deadlines:
- 8 June 2020: Module 3 registration deadline
- 10 July 2020: Module 2 logbook submission deadline for candidates sitting Module 3 in 2020
- 3 August 2020: Module 3 deferral application deadline
Clinical Experience Requirements
Candidates who are experiencing difficulties achieving their clinical experience requirements due to Covid-19 may apply for a 6 month extension of DDU Regulations 22.214.171.124 and 5.3 using the application form here. The closing date for applications is 8 May 2020.
Any request outside of these extended dates or requirments must be made as per the special consideration policy and will be assessed on a case by case basis. Factors related to Covid-19 will only be considered following the announcement of the pandemic on 11 March 2020 unless evidence of impact prior to this can be provided.
