COVID-19 Announcements

Due to the ongoing unpredictability of restrictions due to the covid-19 pandemic, the DDU Board have put in place measures to so that candidates can undertake their assessments at their home or workplace. The written assessment is to be undertaken under the invigilation of their primary clinical supervisor (or appropriate person as nominated by the supervisor). The oral assessment will be conducted virtually via zoom (or equivalent).

If you would like to sit the Module 3 assessments in 2022, please contact the ASUM Education Team education@asum.com.au for more information.

ASUM have continued to monitor and make allowances for restrictions related to the current Covid-19 outbreak in Sydney.

Despite these efforts, with increasing logistical difficulties and to minimise the risk to the health and safety of ASUM’s candidates, examiners and staff, we regret to advise that ASUM has made the difficult decision to postpone the DDU Module 3 assessments until later in the year.

Whilst all candidates are not located in Sydney, all streams are tied to the Sydney assessment venue either due to assessment security or by candidate and/or examiner, hence the postponement effects all assessment centres.

We appreciate that the Module 3 assessments require a significant amount of planning and preparation by both candidates and their supervisors and can assure all candidates that this decision was not made without due consideration of all available options.

The DDU Board are currently working through the logistics of re-scheduling these assessments and are working towards October/early November for the new dates. We will notify all candidates as soon as a date has been set.

Please contact the ASUM education team by email to education@asum.com.au if you have any questions.

As we continue to monitor the exceptional circumstances of COVID-19, ASUM acknowledges the amazing work of all healthcare professionals and the role of ultrasound in this battle. These are uncertain times. We need to follow the advice given to mitigate, as best we can, this unprecedented global event and adhere to the relevant restrictions for the safety of all.

At this time, ASUM is concerned for the wellbeing of DDU candidates, examiners and staff and as such on the advice of the DDU Board of Examiners would like to communicate the following changes to the DDU academic calendar and operations.
