The Dr Delwyn Nicholls Scholarship

ASUM is honoured to administer the Dr Delwyn Nicholls Scholarship on behalf of the estate of Dr Delwyn Nicholls. Many in our community will remember Delwyn fondly — a dedicated sonographer, educator, and colleague whose warmth, generosity, and passion for ultrasound education left a lasting legacy.

Following her passing in 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer, ASUM is proud to continue her vision of supporting the next generation of sonographers. The scholarship, established in her name, is designed to assist rural and regional Australian sonography students in their third or final year of study.

Applications for the 2027 Dr Delwyn Nicholls Scholarship are now open – applications close 31 August 2026 with the scholarship recipient to be announced at the ASUM AU26 conference in Perth, WA, 14-16 November 2026.
