ASUM Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound (ASUM-DDU)

The ASUM Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound (DDU) is an industry-recognised professional development programme certifying those specialist clinicians performing diagnostic ultrasound services. The ASUM-DDU is a self-paced course, whereby candidates prepare for a range of assessments in their own time using a variety of learning materials.

An ASUM-DDU graduate is a specialist medical practitioner who has overall responsibility for ensuring the most accurate and valid information possible is obtained from the ultrasound examination. The ASUM-DDU graduate is then responsible for using the acquired information to meaningfully contribute to clinical patient management and would usually have diagnostic ultrasound as a major focus of their practice.

The ASUM-DDU is a professional credential issued by the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine. It is not an AQF qualification and is not nationally recognised training under the Australian VET system.

ASUM education programs are professional development credentials designed for clinicians and allied health professionals.

These programs are not accredited under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), are not nationally recognised training in the Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) system and are not delivered or awarded by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
