Royal Flying Doctor Service to open WFUMB 2019
The role of ultrasound, the difference it has made and lives it has saved
Organisers of the WFUMB 2019 Congress are thrilled to announce the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) will be presenting the opening plenary on the first day of the Congress.
The RFDS is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world, providing extensive primary health care and 24-hour emergency services to people over an area of 7.69 million square kilometres.
Dr Abby Harwood, Chief Medical Officer, RFDS Queensland Section, has a passion for remote health care and will present an overview of the service and how they manage operations across the vast country of Australia, plus the difference ultrasound has made to patients around Australia and the lives it has saved.
See the incredible landscapes the RFDS services from the view of the plane, and hold onto your seats for some of the hair-raising property landings the teams encounter including shooing kangaroos and cattle from aircraft landing strips – just another day in the RFDS!
