MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

  • MEDICAL - for persons who have completed a medical degree and who are registered to practice in Australia or in New Zealand
  • SCIENTIFIC - for persons who hold academic degrees in medicine, science, engineering, veterinary science or similar and who carry out research into ultrasound.
  • SONOGRAPHER - for persons who hold the DMU or other qualification accredited by ASAR. (Provide a copy of qualifications).
  • STUDENT - Medical registrars, medical students in their final year, students enrolled in an ASAR or NZMRTB accredited course, students in their final year who are enrolled in Radiography and/or Nursing courses. Students in their final year of a health science degree.
  • ASSOCIATE - for persons interested in the application and use of ultrasonic techniques in medicine and biology who do not otherwise qualify for other categories of membership of the Society.
  • CORRESPONDING - for persons who qualify for the above categories and who reside outside of Australia and New Zealand.
  • TRAINEE - for registered medical practitioners who are undertaking a course of postgraduate training in ultrasound which for the time being is approved by RANZCR, RANZCOG, RACP or RACS.
  • CORPORATE - for corporations involved in the distribution of diagnostic ultrasound equipment and related products.
