The ASUM mission is to advance the clinical practice of medical ultrasound for the highest standards of patient care. Our Outreach programs aim to encourage and assist education in diagnostic ultrasound in rural and remote regions of Australia, New Zealand, Asia Pacific and the rest of the world, with the assistance of our ISUOG and WFUMB affiliates, as well as like-minded partners such as Radiology Across Borders (RAB).
ASUM is the Australasian representative of ISUOG – International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and WFUMB – the World Federation of Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology.
ASUM Outreach continues to strive in making a difference supporting communities in the education and sustainable delivery of ultrasound training. We are extremely proud and excited to be collaborating with Radiology Across Borders (RAB), a like-minded not-for- profit organisation wanting to deliver quality health care through radiology.
Our inaugural project together will take our volunteers to Samoa in a team approach, where we will develop and train doctors and sonographers in obstetrics, gynaecology and breast imaging. All volunteers from both RAB and ASUM are self-funded, however we need to raise funds to support this project and the team in Samoa, to ensure their training is optimised. Education is the key to delivering sustainable services and we need your help to donate to this worthy opportunity.
All donations are tax deductible and 100% will be used for those in Samoa to be educated and care for their community.
